Showdowns, Hippogriffs, and Family Bands

Hello...you!
It's been so long, I kinda forget your name. Forgive me, will you? Thanks.

Have no fear, m'dear-I made a resolution to blog once every two weeks. I realize this isn't often...but you're not reading anyways, so what do you care!? Cram it, you.
(If someone is actually reading, I offer my sincerest apologies. You're great.)

So many great things have come and gone since we've last visited, no? I suppose I'll dive back into this by simply posting about three heavy hitting things going on in m'life. Ready? Let's.

1. Scott C. and Glorious Showdowns.

I was completely unaware of this man until roughly 4 hours ago. I hate that I haven't paid more attention, because the work he is doing is absolutely incredible. His most recent showcase depicts some of the greatest film showdowns ever.

It was everything I could do not to post about 90% of these on facebook. For the sake of my friends who have to put up with my nonsense posts as is, I decided to get it out of my system on here. Some of my most favorites:

Check out the rest of his showdowns here, and for goodness sake...buy some of the guy's prints.
How great is this guy?

2. Harry Potter.

Alright...I'm a handful of years behind on this bandwagon. I was way too busy trying to be cool to read Harry Potter when it was all the rage. Lucky for me, when trying to be cool didn't work out, Harry Potter was still fucking awesome.
(I'm sorry I said fuck.)
(Twice.)

I just recently watched a documentary on J.K. Rowling, and got a completely different perspective on Harry Potter as a whole. I recommend watching it. Super interesting, AND incredibly shot. You can start it here.

What a wonderful woman she is.

I'm currently on the third book, and adoring every second of it.
I can't wait until I can own a Hippogriff.

3. Eisley.

For starters, who doesn't love Eisley? Nobody doesn't love Eisley. They're so great.
They were the providers of my high school soundtrack, and I've had the privilege of seeing them two or three times in the past few years...but it's been a while, and lucky for me, they're coming to Albuquerque. Which, in and of itself is a feat worth celebrating. A band I like in Albuquerque!? Incredible.

All I'm trying to say is that I'm excited. Really really excited.
Sidebar: The DuPree family, specifically Sherri, is a favorite twitter follow.
She's super cute and funny, and I want her dog and wardrobe. Is that so much to ask?
I don't think so.
Anyway, follow her.
Watch this.
Come to see Eisley and Rooney with me on February 2.
You'll love it...I promise you that.

That's all for the back-to-blog dive in. I'll be back so soon.
